Deutz-Fahr 5G utility tractors were designed to fit a number of roles in the farm, from medium to large acreage operations. The 5G Series tractor are available in the U.S.A. in three horsepower ratings (97, 106 and 116) and multiple configurations.

The heart of the 5G is the 3.8L Farmotion engine which was designed from the ground up by Same Deutz-Fahr for heavy duty agricultural use. The Farmotion engine in the 5G series is a 4 cylinder turbocharged diesel featuring a high pressure common rail fuel system for consistent power across the RPM range and a great torque curve. The cooling package is designed to operate in all conditions and is very easy to service.

Several transmission options are available in the 5G series including both mechanical synchro-shuttle and electronic power shuttle versions. The mechanical synchro-shuttle transmission in the 5100G  features a dry clutch, 5 fully synchronized gears in the main transmission and 2 ranges for a total of 10 speeds forward and reverse. The higher spec 5100G GS has a electronic power shuttle transmission with 5 gears, 2 ranges and a high/low for a total of 20 speeds forward and reverse. 5110G tractors share the same transmission with the 5100G GS model but include a separate creeper gear giving it 40 x 40 speeds. Moving up to the 5120G gets you the 60×60 transmission with electronic power shuttle, 5 main transmission gears, 3 speed powershift in each gear plus 4 ranges. The 60 x 60 transmission option makes selecting the correct speed for any task a simple task. All of the transmission options provide for a 25 MPH transport speed to help you move efficiently between fields and keep road time to a minimum.

The standard 5100G tractor with the 10 x 10 transmission has a 540 rear PTO, while all the other 5G tractors have multiple PTO speeds including 540, 540E, 1000 and 1000E output. The PTO engagement is fully modulated for smooth starts.

Deutz-Fahr designed the 5G tractors to have ample hydraulic output for any application. Different hydraulic systems are available from 14.5 to 23.7 gallons per minute output at the rear remotes. Two remote hydraulic valves are standard but up to 4 pairs are available on the 5G series.

All Deutz-Fahr tractors are known to have a rugged drivetrain and the 5G is no exception. The heavy duty front axle has a short turning radius, oversized bearings and shafts and internal front disc brakes giving the tractor true all wheel braking. 4WD engagement and differential locks are engaged by a simple push button.

Like the rest of the Deutz-Fahr tractors the 5G has comfortable enclosed cabin with a deluxe air ride seat. Controls are layed out right where you think they would be and color coded for ease of operation. The external lighting package is great for late night operations providing great visibility and increasing safety.
